Methylene blue and fluoxetine both increase serotonin levels. ![]() Deutetrabenazine may be resumed 24 hours after last methylene blue dose or after 2 weeks of monitoring, whichever comes first. ![]() If methylene blue must be used emergently, discontinue deutetrabenazine and monitor for adverse effects. Deutetrabenazine should not be used in combination with an MAOI, or within 14 days of discontinuing therapy with an MAOI. Serotonergic therapy may be resumed 24 hours after last methylene blue dose or after 2 weeks of monitoring, whichever comes firstĮither increases toxicity of the other by sympathetic (adrenergic) effects, including increased blood pressure and heart rate.
